    Interstate 70 closed in western Kansas due to high winds, crashes

    WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Interstate 70 in western Kansas has been closed due to blowing dust and low visibility.

    The Kansas Department of Transportation says the interstate is closed between Oakley and WaKeeney due to high winds and blowing dust. There are also vehicle crashes blocking the roadway.

    Wildfire forces home evacuations in Riley County

    Motorists traveling through northwest Kansas are urged to use caution and delay travel if possible. Those currently on the roadways should find shelter at a safe location until conditions improve.

    Authorities are urging drivers to take caution when out driving on Saturday.
