Blood drive being held at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton next month

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – A community blood drive is scheduled for Tuesday, May 14th at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton.

Seasonal allergies in full effect in Massachusetts

In partnership with Cooley Dickinson Hospital, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham & Women’s Hospital, and the Kraft Family Blood Donor Center to bring their bloodmobile to Northampton. The bloodmobile will be set up in the parking lot from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. All blood donors will receive a $10 gift card.

One donation can help up to three people and blood is not just used for emergencies, it’s also used for long-term treatments. Patients in need may receive your donated blood or just specific components of your blood to treat a particular condition.

To make an appointment, visit tinyurl.com/CooleyM2024 . Donors are also advised to drink extra water and eat before donating blood. All donor types are welcome.

“Blood donation is a vital act of generosity that saves lives,” said Catherine Reed, administrative director for clinical Services at Cooley Dickinson. “We deeply appreciate the ongoing support of our community in ensuring that our patients have access to the vital blood supply they need.”
