Traffic stop led to drug bust in North Adams

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. ( NEWS10 )– A traffic stop made by the North Adams Police Department led to a drug bust on Wednesday. Police said they stopped a vehicle that was part of an ongoing narcotics investigation and seized fentanyl, cocaine, Xanax, and more.

A K-9 of the North Adams Police Department was deployed during the vehicle stop and alerted to narcotics in the vehicle, police said. Both occupants of the vehicle were arrested and investigators continued their search, executing a search warrant for a Williamstown, Massachusetts home.

Both people in the vehicle were charged with the following and a cash bail was set at $7,500 pending their arraignment in Northern Berkshire District Court. North Adams police were assisted by the Williamstown Police Department when searching the home.

  • Trafficking Fentanyl 10 grams or more
  • Trafficking cocaine 36 – 100 grams
  • Possession with intent to distribute class C Xanax
  • Possession of a class B substance (Oxycodone)
  • Conspiracy

Evidence seized

  • Approximately 76 grams of Fentanyl (3,800 bags)
  • Approximately 41 grams of crack cocaine
  • Approximately 182 grams of Xanax
  • Approximately 4 Oxycodone
  • Approximately $4,597 U.S. currency
  • Digital Scales and packaging material
