NORFOLK, Va. — This weekend, you can head to the beach with your dog to enjoy the festivities at the Salty Dog Beach Walk!
Norfolk SPCA expects roughly 300 people to head to the beach with their pups for a one-mile walk at Ocean View/East Beach.
Before and after the scenic walk, a variety of family-friendly activities will be held on the beach. The schedule is as follows:
- 10 a.m. - Yoga on the Beach (dogs are invited!)
- 11:30 a.m. - 1-mile walk
- 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. - after-party at the Bold Mariner with 97.3 The Eagle
Other events include demonstrations from the Norfolk Police Department, the Norfolk Sheriff's Office, military working dogs, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife K-9 Unit, and the ODU K-9 Unit.
There will also be face painting and tattoos offered at the beach.
Registration is $40 for those ages 13 and older. The event is free for 12 and under.
