Niskayuna Police responded to a fatal car crash on Friday. Also, thousands were impacted by power outages across the Capital Region amid the snowstorm that hit the area over the weekend. These stories, and more, are covered in your five things to know this Monday morning.

1. One dead in single-car crash in Niskayuna

The Niskayuna Police Department has said that it responded to the area across from Balltown Road and Schwaber Drive after receiving reports of a single-car crash into a field on Friday at around 6:36 a.m. The driver, identified as Jesus Torres, 19, of Rexford, was transported to Ellis Hospital where he tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

2. Capital Region businesses reopening after March snowstorm

When Elvis Garder walked into his card game store GeekMe in Schenectady on Sunday morning, the power was still out with no guarantee of coming on quickly. His decision to close for the day came with a concern for safety and the day being typically slow.

3. $19.2M winning LOTTO jackpot ticket sold in Schenectady

One lucky Schenectady resident took home $19.2M after hitting the jackpot in the New York LOTTO Saturday drawing. Per the New York State Lottery, the ticket was sold to a New York Lottery subscriber.

4. Albany community reacts to March snowstorm
