Joplin to Chicago flights no longer stop in Decatur
JOPLIN, Mo. — Good news for airline passengers flying from Joplin to Chicago. Flights out of the Joplin Regional Airport to the “Windy City” are now straight through. Under a new three-year agreement, SkyWest — a regional carrier for United Airlines — will no longer make a layover stop on the trip from Joplin to Chicago.
Mercy Hospitals receives major donations from Women With a Mission
JOPLIN, Mo. — A local women’s organization makes potentially life-saving donations to three local hospitals. This morning, Women With a Mission donated $113,000 to purchase equipment and technology for Mercy Hospital facilities in Joplin, Galena, and Carthage. The funds are raised by the group, through their annual dues.
Dolly Parton ‘appears’ at Neosho Newton County Library
NEOSHO, Mo. — There’s been a celebrity sighting at an area library. A life-size cutout of country legend Dolly Parton is up inside the Neosho Newton County Library. It’s part of the free Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. That program will send a new book each month to any participant up to the age of five.
Kids cast their reels at Neosho Kids Fishing Derby
NEOSHO, Mo. — Kids and fishing poles were a solid combination in Friday morning Neosho. Children between the ages of 7 and 12 participated in the Neosho National Fish Hatchery’s annual Kids Fishing Derby. Officials were expecting upwards of 500 participants this year, and the pond was loaded with thousands of fish.
