NEWTON, NJ—The North Jersey Collective, which was formed this past August by Brendan Carroll, Tommy Carroll and Megan Ferguson, is hosting its second art show in Newton, this time with an extra special guest.
Tim Jacobus, the original artist behind the popular Goosebumps book series and their iconic covers, will be featuring work in the upcoming show. He will also be doing an in-person meet-and-greet with fans at the event.
Titled, “There’s No Leaving Newton: Dream Sequence”, the show will take place on Saturday, May 18th and Sunday, May 19th, at 85 Mill Street from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. There will be a $5 per person entry fee and a cash bar available.
“Since our formation...we have been working hard to grow, stay creatively active, and expand community involvement in the arts,” said Ferguson.
The collective has hosted multiple art classes and events including, a drawing club, Life Drawing Class, Graffiti Workshop and their famous “There’s No leaving Newton Art Show.”
“Our current focus as a collective is continuing a series of public art shows taking place here in Newton. I’m happy to report that our November show had great turnout and success with over 200 local patrons stopping by to see local art,” Ferguson said.
This upcoming show will also feature the famous works of Ricky Boscarino of Luna Parc, and will consist of a gallery area with displays of paintings, illustrations, photography, sculpture and woodwork by fifteen New Jersey based artists:
Brendan Carroll
Tom Carroll
Chare Star
Tim Jacobus
Ricky Boscarino
Nick VanDeMoere
Rob Yaskovic
Portia Alexander
Jess Murr
Donald Kolberg
Something Made Custom (Julia George)

The theme of the show will be an “exploration of both ethereal and ghastly limits of the untethered mind. Dreams, nightmares, visions & blackouts.[It] will force a departure from reality and plunge into the surreal. [It] will also feature a guided interactive live painting wall, as well as a handful of other interactive installations,” Ferguson said.
