    Boone Co., AR Jail, Sheriff’s Office damaged in Sunday’s storms

    BOONE COUNTY, Ark. — The Boone County Sheriff’s Office and Jail took significant damage from the overnight storm Sunday.

    The Boone County Judge’s Office Facebook page posted Sunday saying the damage is still being assessed.

    “All Jailers, Law Enforcement, and Inmates are safe. No injuries,” the post said.

    County officials did report the jail side suffered minimal damage and inmates have running water and meals.

    Power is out at the Boone County Sheriff’s Office and the Jail. The post on Facebook says they are currently running off the generator and hoping energy gets restored soon.

    OzarksFirst crews are also on the scene in Boone County gathering more information.

    Emergency management officials are urging any residents who need assistance with places to stay can call the American Red Cross at 1-800-733-2767.
