    STORM WATCH: Scattered showers, severe evening storms in Connecticut on Memorial Day

    Showers expected to pass through this morning with an evening batch that can be stronger. Some evening storms pass through Western Connecticut after 4 p.m. and carry into the late night with lingering showers into the early morning Tuesday.

    Some storms can be capable of strong gusts of 40-60 mph, downpours, and area flooding. Travel will be very challenging later this evening up and down the Merritt and the CT Turnpike into Westchester and points east.

    It's important to stay vigilant for changing weather as strong gusts can happen suddenly as storms arrive.

    Weather conditions improve for Tuesday and for the rest of the week with warmer temperatures and a mostly sunny sky.
