    Wildfire in Lincoln Co. prompts evacuations, thousands of acres burned

    LINCOLN COUNTY, N.M. — The Lincoln County Fire Service says a Blue 2 Fire burning in the area is causing several communities to be evacuated and others to prepare for evacuations.

    According to LCFS, residents of Alto, High Sierra Estates, Copper Canyon, Copper Ridge Canaan Trail and Western Sonterra Subdivisions East of 48 North and South of 37 were asked to prepare for evacuation.

    According to New Mexico Fire Info, the fire, which began in White Mountain Wilderness and burned over 3,400 acres, was caused by lighting.
