    Two adults, two cats displaced after house fire in Hanover

    HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Two adults and their two cats have been displaced by a Friday afternoon house fire in Hanover County.

    Just before 4 p.m. on Friday, May 24, units with the Hanover County Fire-EMS Department were dispatched to the 5900 block of Pine Slash Road for report of a residential structure fire.

    When firefighters arrived, they found a single-story home with fire coming from two of its sides. According to fire officials, the fire was put out by 5:30 p.m. that evening with the help of nine total fire units.

    The two adults and two cats who lived in the home were not injured in the fire. According to fire officials, they are being assisted by the Red Cross.

    The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
