Cabell County Schools honors bus drivers with end-of-year send-off

CABELL COUNTY, WV (WOWK) – Friday marked the last day of school for Cabell County Schools and the last day for bus drivers.

To honor the drivers who are always the first and last to see the students, Cabell County Schools staff hosted a send-off for the drivers’ last day of the school year. Those hosting the send-off said they hope the drivers are remembered for their important role of keeping students safe every day of the school year.

“This is one of those things that we love to be able to do, to say ‘thank you,'” said Cabell County Schools Superintendent Ryan Saxe. “Thank you to the bus drivers for what you do to keep our students safe – transporting them safely and making sure those children know there is a caring adult always with them.”

As drivers take students home for the last time this school year, remember to stop when they unload their precious cargo.
