    Defiance County grand jury returns indictments against 14 defendants

    A Defiance County grand jury has returned indictments against 14 persons, according to Prosecutor Morris Murray’s office.

    Indicted were:

    • Manuel Canales, 24, Stryker (CCNO), for three counts of rape, each a first-degree felony. Authorities allege that from June 1, 2019-May 31, 2020 he engaged in sexual conduct with a female juvenile under the age of 10.

    • Jared Frymire, 43, 609 Dakota Place, for pandering sexually-oriented matter involving a minor or impaired person, a second-degree felony; and illegal use of a minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material or performance, a fifth-degree felony. Authorities allege that on Feb. 27 he created, reproduced, or published material showing a minor participating or engaging in sexual activity. Authorities further allege that he also possessed or viewed material showing a minor in a state of nudity.

    • Bernard Kline, 39, 08700 Ohio 249, Hicksville, for 10 counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person, each a second-degree felony. Authorities allege that on May 17 and Sept. 9 he created, reproduced, or published materials showing a minor participating or engaging in sexual activity.

    • Rickey Lamb, 32, Napoleon, for engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, a second-degree felony; and grand theft, a fourth-degree felony. The charges allege that from Nov. 30-April 15 he stole merchandise from area businesses as part of an enterprise engaging in corrupt activity.

    • Dalton Talbott, 28, Paulding, for two counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, each a second-degree felony, and five counts of illegal use of a minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material or performance, each a fifth-degree felony. The charges allege that on March 26 he created, reproduced, or published materials showing a minor participating or engaging in sexual activity. Authorities further allege that Talbott possessed or viewed materials showing a minor in a state of nudity.

    • Joel Wulff, 37, 18548 Schubert Road, for failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony. The indictment alleges that on March 30 he fled from a traffic stop on Defiance’s North Clinton Street, creating a substantial risk of serious physical harm to persons or property in the area and later crashing. He also is charged with corrupting another with drugs, a second-degree felony; aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony; and two counts of endangering children, each a first-degree misdemeanor, from an incident on May 9 in which he allegedly caused a juvenile to use methamphetamine.

    • Brittany Wulff, 36, 18548 Schubert Road, for corrupting another with drugs, a second-degree felony; aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony; and two counts of endangering children, each a first-degree misdemeanor. She is charged as a co-defendant with Joel Wulff (listed above).

    • Corey Cassidy, 37, 28513 Bowman Road, for failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer and tampering with evidence, each a third-degree felony. Authorities allege that on May 4 he fled from a law enforcement traffic stop on Defiance County’s Highland Center Road, creating a substantial risk of serious physical harm to persons or property when he fled from police at speeds exceeding 115 miles per hour. Authorities further allege that Cassidy concealed, altered or destroyed evidence, with the purpose to impair its availability in this investigation, knowing that an official proceeding or investigation was likely to be undertaken.

    • Kristi Warner, 37, Louisville, Ky., for failure to appear as required by recognizance, a fourth-degree felony. She allegedly failed to appear for a hearing in Defiance County Common Pleas Court on May 16 after having been released on a personal-recognizance bond.

    • Jason Delaney, 46, 752 Jackson Ave., for aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony; and OVI, a first-degree misdemeanor.

    • Gage Gilbert, 21, Stryker, for failure to appear as required by recognizance, a fourth-degree felony. He allegedly failed to appear for a hearing in Defiance County Common Pleas Court on May 8 after having been released on a personal-recognizance bond.

    • Damien Bell, 25, Toledo, for theft, a fifth-degree felony. He allegedly stole a vehicle license plate in April.

    • Damien Bish, 29, 15732 Main St., for breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony. The indictment alleges that in December he trespassed in an unoccupied residence on Ohio 18 in Sherwood to commit a theft offense.

    • Greg Lamica, 47, Toledo, for aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony.
