    11-year-old missing Letcher County boy dies

    BLACKEY, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — The search for a missing Letcher County boy has come to an unfortunate close.

    According to Trooper Gayheart, 11-year-old Curtis Cash Halcomb was reported missing around 2:08 p.m. on Tuesday near Kentucky Highway 588.

    MISSING IN KENTUCKY

    KSP said that shortly after the search for Halcomb began, members of Letcher County Fire and Rescue found him unresponsive in an area creek. Authorities performed life-saving measures when they took Halcomb to Whitesburg ARH Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

    Trooper Gayheart said that no foul play is expected at this time, and his body was sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy.
