ST. CROIX COUNTY, Wis. (WKBT) -- The chairman of the St. Croix County Democratic Party is running for State Senate.

Paul Hambleton will seek election in Senate District 10, which now covers parts of St. Croix, Pierce, Pepin, Buffalo and Trempealeau Counties.

The retired teacher and union organizer said in a release that it's time for a change after two decades of Republican majorities.

"We can be uplifting our schools and hardworking educators, expanding access to health care, addressing childcare affordability, increasing senior care options, improving mental health services, prioritizing our small, locally owned businesses and so much more," he wrote.

“As a long-time resident of St. Croix County, I am first and foremost passionate about advocating for our community. I look forward to talking with voters over the next months and earning their vote in November. It’s time to get Wisconsin back on track by electing new faces who are willing to put in the time and effort to accomplish the hard work.”
