Central Precinct detectives are working to locate burglary suspect Ronald Fillinger Jr., 53, and identify his accomplice. Both men are suspected in a scheme to act as hotel guests while breaking into rooms.

On May 5, the victims reported that several thousand dollars worth of their belongings had been taken from their room at the Westin Hotel, 807 Clark Place. Fillinger’s accomplice is seen with him during the burglary. Warrants charging aggravated burglary and theft of property have been issued against Fillinger in this case.

Additionally, two warrants charging aggravated burglary have been issued against Fillinger in two separate cases.

On March 26, Fillinger is alleged to have used an employee’s key card to gain access to a hotel room at the Courtyard by Marriot, 1901 West End Avenue, where he took nearly $1,000 worth of items. The luggage that he was in possession of and left behind at the Marriot was recovered. Inside was Fillinger’s Davidson County Sheriff’s Office issued prisoner ID card. He was last arrested on January 31 after he was found sleeping in an unoccupied room of the SoBro Apartments and Homesharing, 516 Lea Avenue. The door to a room had been left open for the room to be dehumidified.

On March 20, Fillinger is alleged to have stolen multiple items from a room at the Wyndham hotel, 2415 McGavock Pike. Several of the belongings taken in this burglary were recovered in the luggage Fillinger left behind at the Courtyard by Marriot on West End.

Anyone knowing Fillinger’s whereabouts or the identity of his accomplice in the May 5 burglary is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
