    Public Records: Fairfield County restaurant inspections

    The following are restaurant inspections with critical violations, as conducted by the Fairfield County Health Department from April 29 to May 10.

    May 1

    Charley's Philly Steaks, 732 N. Memorial Drive, Lancaster. Observed blue jug and scrubbing pads stored in the handwashing sink. Observed raw eggs stored above ready-to-eat foods in a walk-in cooler and an ice scoop stored in an unclean container with dirty liquid.

    May 2

    Wilmot Petroleum LLC, 182 E. Sixth Ave., Lancaster. The person in charge (PIC) is unable to demonstrate knowledge by having no critical violations. Employees are not informed in a verifiable manner of their responsibility to report information about their health. Observed milk with a discard date of April 29. Observed rodent droppings throughout cabinets beneath the slushy and coffee machines.

    Sweeney's Pub, 532 N. Columbus St., Lancaster. Observed dead fly in a container for ice scoop.

    Center City Drive Thru, 641 N. Columbus St., Lancaster. There is no employee health policy on file. Observed milk with an expiration date of May 1.

    El Parian Steaks and Tequila, 123 N. Broad St., Lancaster. There is no employee health policy. Observed an employee dropping an ice scoop on the floor and then going to wash it in the handwashing sink. There is no air gap from the ice machine.

    May 7

    Madison Bar and Grill Carry Out, 226 Madison Ave., Lancaster. Observed unlabeled chemical bottle.

    May 8

    Berne Union School, 506 N. Main St., Sugar Grove. PIC unable to demonstrate knowledge of major food allergens. Observed sesame oil used to season cooking equipment. If sesame oil is to be used, the students and parents must be notified. Sesame is considered a major food allergen. Observed cutting board with stains and deep cuts.

    May 10

    Outerbelt Brewing, 3560 Dolson Court, Suite A, Carroll. Observed some food items with date marking of date prepared and some date marking of the date to be discarded.

    Amanda Clearcreek Local School, 328 E. Main St., Amanda. There is no air gap on the prep sink.

    Amanda Clearvreek Primary, 328 E. Main St., Amanda. The dishwasher water temperature is unable to reach temperatures above 160 F.
