Four students from Covington County were presented with the Andalusia Health Career Scholarship during a ceremony held at the hospital campus on Thursday, May 9.

The program, a collaboration between LBW Community College and Andalusia Health, was formed to draw high school seniors to healthcare and medical fields.

Makayla Crawford of Red Level, Katelyn Jones, Trinity Jennings, and Ashlynn Jowers, all of Straughn, represent the inaugural class of the scholarship. Andalusia Health Registered Nurse Aniya Florence taught the course.

As part of the scholarship requirements, students pursue a healthcare field and return to Andalusia Health to work for a specific time period upon completing their course work.
