YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Attorneys on Wednesday in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court recommended probation for a man arrested in March on a gun charge .

Roosevelt Lane, 47, pleaded guilty before Judge R. Scott Krichbaum to a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm, a third-degree felony.

Assistant Prosecutor Michael Rich said he is recommending probation because Lane was last arrested in 2007 and the gun he had when he was arrested by city police belonged to his girlfriend.

Lane was arrested after a traffic stop at East Dewey and Homestead avenues. Police found a gun in the car while they searched it, reports said.
