LUMBERTON — The Public Schools of Robeson County’s Relay-Leverage Leadership Coach has received the highest honor for her work in the 2023-2024 cohort of the Relay Graduate School of Education’s Leverage Leadership Institute Fellowship.

PSRC Relay-Leverage Leadership Coach Amanda Graham has been recognized as a Platinum Plus Leader for hard work and dedication in the Relay Graduate School of Education’s Leverage Leadership Institute Fellowship.

“This means that her leadership work with her leaders was rated by our LLI team as exceptional in five of the levers of leadership: Observation and Feedback, Leading Weekly Data Meetings, Leading Planning Meetings, Leading Equity Centered Culture, Data Driven Instruction, and Professional Development,” said Kathleen Sullivan, Leverage Leadership Institute Senior Partner.

“Only a small fraction of every cohort earns this distinction, and it means that leaders in and beyond our professional community will be traveling to see her and learn from her in action in years to come. We wish her a hearty congratulations and excitement for all the learning and growing that will spring from Amanda’s exceptional leadership,” Sullivan added.

The recognition was given to Graham earlier this month following her delivery of professional development sessions throughout the year and submission of videos of coaching sessions on the levers of leadership. Graham was graded on each component by the Institute and passed each one.

Graham said she has learned many things from her time in the 2023-2024 cohort of the Leverage Leadership Institute Fellowship.

“Throughout my year-long journey I have learned how to better communicate and now coach the principals I work with. I’ve gained wisdom and become more confident walking into any elementary, middle or high school to provide feedback on instructional practices,” Graham said.

“I’ve also become more comfortable in my role of coaching principals and assisting them in identifying learning gaps while teachers deliver lessons in real time. Earning the Platinum Plus award certifies me to deliver professional development for any lever in Leverage Leadership and to one day lead a Platinum visit for Relay at one of our own schools in Robeson County,” she added.

PSRC Superintendnet Dr. Freddie Williamson commended Graham on the recognition and her growth as a leader through her time in the fellowship.

“Congratulations, Amanda, on this well-deserved recognition. Your work through this fellowship has helped us continue to build capacity in our principals as they operate as instructional leaders in their buildings,” Dr. Williamson said.

“Amanda’s application of the Leverage Leadership Institute training will continue to be instrumental for the district as we work to improve instruction and sustain the work to provide all PSRC students with the sound education they need to be successful citizens,” Williamson added.
