"I don't shop at stores that do this," one person said. "It's degrading to have to ask someone to help me shop."
Another wrote: "They’ve had socks, underwear and a few other items under lock and key for awhile at the one near me. And you can never find an associate to help, so you just give up."
Many retailers have been putting more and more products behind locked doors in an effort to prevent theft. Walmart previously estimated that it loses about a $3billion in stolen goods every year, which equals about one percent of its revenue.
Many customers have complained that trying to buy a product from behind a protective case can take up to 40 minutes of their time. Products such as toothpaste, baby formula and vitamins have been reported as being locked up in certain stores.
