Rory McIlroy married American beauty Erica Stoll in a top-secret ceremony in Co Mayo .

The couple tied the knot at the five-star Ashford Castle on April 22, 2017, with A-lister guests such as Niall Horan and Padraig Harrington in attendance.

McIlroy and his wife were offered multiple magazine deals for exclusive coverage of their big day - including one worth $3million from a US magazine - but turned them all down in order to keep it a private affair.

It is understood staff at Ashford Castle were forced to sign non-disclosure agreements in order to attend the big day and guests were not allowed to use their mobile phones.

And McIlroy is believed to have spent around €30,000 ($32,460) on UK anti-drone company, Drone Defence, in a bid to stop people from getting pictures of his wedding day.

McIlroy also spent huge money hiring a top security team, led by Bono ’s bodyguard Brian Murphy, to guard the 13th-century castle for five days.
