Cooler, cloudy and rainy on Friday

HEADLINES:

• Cooling down for tomorrow with pockets of rain.
• Cooler and mainly cloudy this weekend.

FORECAST: Storm Team Meteorologist Michele Powers say rain will be around for part of the day tomorrow.

There will be wet conditions through the morning commute. This will help wash away the the very high levels of pollen.

Another low pressure system is heading our way and will slide from west to east across the tri-state area. Clouds will remain in place and the winds will more out of the east. With an onshore wind again, temperatures will get quite chilly again. Tomorrow, highs won't get out of the 50s.

Temperatures slowly recover over the weekend and it doesn't look as rainy. Saturday should end up partly sunny. Mother's Day on Sunday will be mainly cloudy and cool, with a slight risk of spotty showers. Dry and warmer early next week.

COASTAL FLOODING: The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood advisory for Southwestern Fairfield County tonight from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. for some brief, minor flooding during tonight's high tide cycle. Up to 1 foot of inundation possible with local spots up to 2 feet. The new moon and also onshore winds are helping to sustain this threat.

SATURDAY: Partly sunny and slightly warmer. High of 62.

SUNDAY: Cloudy with a few spotty showers. High of 58.

MONDAY: Partly sunny. High of 70.

TUESDAY: Mostly sunny. High of 74.

WEDNESDAY: Mostly cloudy with showers. High of 69.

THURSDAY: Sun and clouds. High of 67.
