Temporary detour on Rte 247 in Lackawanna County

JESSUP BOROUGH, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — PennDOT announced a temporary detour was put in place on Route 247 in Jessup Borough, Lackawanna County for road repairs on Wednesday.

According to PennDOT, the detour will remain in effect until Wednesday, May 9, at 6:00 p.m.

The detour from Route 247 is as follows:

• Head Northwest on Church Street towards Erie Street
• Turn Right onto Erie Street
• Turn Right onto Hill Street
• Turn Right onto Grassy Island Avenue
• Turn Right onto Church

PennDOT urges drivers to slow down when encountering a work zone, drive the posted speed limit, turn on their headlights, and avoid distractions.
