(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — An El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) Deputy clocked a driver going over 100 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone during heavy fog and the driver’s excuse did not convince the deputy.

According to a Sunday, May 5 post from EPSO on Facebook, a deputy pulled over a driver going 111 mph in a 55 mph zone at 2:15 a.m. The area was also under heavy fog conditions according to EPSO.

When asked why the driver was going so fast, EPSO said they told the deputy they really needed to use the bathroom. EPSO said there is no good excuse for driving 111 mph in a 55 mph and the driver was written a “hefty” ticket.
