My chances of spotting a royal in the wild just increased, and you won’t hear me complaining.

Today, the Belgian Royal Palace announced that Princess Elisabeth will move to the U.S. The 22-year-old was accepted into a master’s program at Harvard University in Boston, which is where she will reside for the next two years.

While at the prestigious college, Princess Elisabeth will study politics. This shouldn’t come as a huge surprise, since she is currently completing an undergraduate degree in history and politics at the U.K.’s University of Oxford.

Prior to that, the royal received an International Baccalaureate Diploma at UWC Atlantic College. She has also attended the Royal Military Academy’s three-week boot camp every summer for the past two years, where she was commissioned as a second lieutenant.

As the oldest child of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde, Princess Elisabeth is first in the Belgian line of succession . She has three younger siblings, Prince Gabriel, 20, Prince Emmanuel, 18, and Princess Eleonore, 16.

Princess Elisabeth isn’t the only royal to attend Harvard University. As Hello! magazine points out, she will follow in the footsteps of King Frederik of Denmark and Empress Masako of Japan.

She’s also not the only royal to move to the U.S. In addition to Prince Harry (who stepped down as a senior royal and moved to Montecito ), Princess Martha Louise of Norway moved across the pond back in 2021.

Wishing Princess Elisabeth all the best on her new adventure!
