WEARE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Troopers are seeking information after kidnapping attempts were reported in Oceana and Muskegon counties.

A white man with a mustache, around 40 to 50 years old, and an older white woman were driving a white minivan with dark windows when they tried to pick up a juvenile, according to the Michigan State Police.

Troopers said Monday the minivan was last seen around 5:20 p.m. Sunday in Weare Township, on the 7300 block of N 88th Avenue, near W Madison Road, and on the 6800 block of N 92nd Avenue, near Monroe Road.

Then, Tuesday morning, troopers said “a similar incident” had been reported in Montague.

Troopers originally released a surveillance photo of a vehicle but later said that vehicle had been cleared and was not the suspect vehicle.
