Shih-Tzus, like many other small dog breeds, get a bad rap. People say that they're mean - despite their small size, many believe that a small dog would be able to make a bear cower just by looking at it. They're fearsome little creatures!
Most of the time, that's not true; small dogs are sweethearts. They love to snuggle and be warm, and if you're going to convince to convince any dog to wear clothes, a small dog is the easiest. However, they can sometimes get a little grumpy, like this little girl. On Wednesday, May 1st, her dad posted a video of an attempt to play, but it went a little crazy:
Poor @lilmfcurb has been going through this forever. I used to see his videos on my For You Page a lot in 2020, and it seems like Bella has not changed one bit. I still love her!

This video is a hilarious take on a popular new TikTok trend: two people play rock-paper-scissors in front of a plate full of food. Whoever wins the round gets to eat while the loser takes a lap. They repeat that until all of the food is gone, and whoever got the most wins is the victor!
Why are Small Dogs so Mean?
Bella isn't doing very much to dispel the "small dogs are evil" rumors. She literally got famous by snapping at her dad! As funny as it is to watch, there have been many people over the years who believe that "antagonizing" Bella to get this reaction out of her is cruel and unfair. However, he's not really doing anything: he puts a picture of Bill Clinton in front of her and she goes crazy.
Small dogs are usually more on-guard than bigger ones. They're aware of their size and the fact that it makes them a target, so they do whatever they can to seem intimidating. They're also a little bit more wary of life in general: something that wouldn't even faze a bigger dog can be a serious threat to a dog like Bella. Their responses to those threats are usually mislabeled as "mean."
Even so, though, small dogs make great friends to the people they trust. You just have to be kind and gentle with them, and they'll be the same with you. Unless, apparently, there's a snack plate in front of them...
