    VOTE for the North Jersey Baseball Player of the Week for April 28-May 4

    After another action-packed week of the high school baseball season, it's time to look back on the best performances and vote.

    Read about the players who stood out last week and let us know who you think should be the North Jersey Player of the Week in the poll at the bottom of this page.

    Voting closes at 4 p.m. Thursday.

    David Acevedo

    Paramus Catholic sophomore

    Acevedo led the Paladins (8-10) to a 3-0 week that featured two walk-off victories. He earned two wins and a save after allowing no earned runs, three hits and striking out eight in five total innings. He batted 4 for 10, with one walk, one run and two RBIs.

    Harrison Curran

    Pompton Lakes senior

    Curran helped the Cardinals (15-2) to a 5-0 week capped by a Passaic tournament win that extended their winning streak to 11 games. He was 9 for 17, featuring two triples, with five RBIs and 10 runs. He threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings and struck out two.

    Ryan Fleming

    Midland Park junior

    Fleming drove the Panthers (13-3) to a 3-1 week that culminated with the 18 th seed posting a 2-1 Bergen tournament win at No. 15 Ridgefield Park/Bogota. He was 7 for 16, with five doubles, three walks and four steals. He had five runs and six RBIs.

    Domenic Maucione

    Becton senior

    Maucione paced the Wildcats (9-7-1) to a 2-1 week and collected his 100 th career hit. He was 5 for 10, featuring a home run, triple, and two doubles, with four runs and four RBIs. He threw a four-hitter with one walk and 13 strikeouts in a 2-1 win over Secaucus.

    Luke Monico

    Ramsey senior

    Monico continued his hot hitting to help the Rams (13-4-1) to a 3-0 week that extended their winning streak to nine games. He was 4 for 7, with four walks, two steals, five runs and two RBIs and has hit better than .500 during the winning streak.

    Brayden Peoples

    Wayne Valley senior

    Peoples drove the Indians (10-7) to a 3-1 week punctuated by the No. 7 seed knocking off No. 2 Wayne Hills, 4-3, in the Passaic tournament. He was 7 for 14, with three runs and five RBIs, including a single and RBI in the avenging win over their crosstown rival.

    Luis Placido-Fana

    New Milford junior

    Placido-Fana guided the Knights (7-9) to a 3-1 week. He was 8 for 11, featuring a trio of triples. He walked three times, was hit by a pitch four times, and stole 19 bases to raise his season total to 48. He had two RBIs and scored nine runs.

    Andrew Streim

    Pascack Hills senior

    Streim led the Broncos (13-6) to a 5-0 week to stretch their winning streak to seven games. He was 5 for 14, featuring a grand slam in a Bergen tournament win, with five runs and nine RBIs. He threw 6 1/3 scoreless innings with six strikeouts and earned a save.

    Colin Taylor

    Saddle Brook freshman

    Taylor helped the Falcons (8-9) to a 2-2 week to keep them in contention for a winning season. He was 11 for 16, including three doubles, with nine runs and six RBIs. He had two hits, two runs and an RBI in a 13-8 victory over Lodi.
