Sermon of the Week: God's word always comes to pass

Isaiah 55:11: “So shall my word be that goes forth to of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing where to I sent it.”

We know that God created the worlds by speaking them into existence. We also know that some of the worse pain we can receive is by hurtful words.

Words are much more important than we realize. Words are how we communicate with one another and often don’t realize the power in words.

It is written in Luke 6:45, “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.”

Every day we speak words that we don’t mean, or comprehend the significance of what we are saying. As believers we need to be mindful that our words have power and weight in the spirit realm.

God wants us to pay close attention to his word.

In Proverbs 4:20-22 we are told the seriousness of God’s word to our health. “My son attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the mist of thine heart. For they are life to those that find them, and health to all their flesh. If what we speak is sickness, then that is what we believe and our faith will be more in sickness than what God’s word says.”

Romans 10:17 says, “faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God.”

So ask yourself what is coming out of your mouth? Is it the problem or the solution?

This is not an easy task when the evidence is overwhelmingly bad or negative, do your believe God is bigger than your problem or do you believe your problem is bigger than God?

God spoke through Isaiah and said that his word would not return unto to him void it would accomplish exactly what was said. Therefore, it is up to each believer to hide God’s word in their heart, meditate on it day and night, and put more faith in God than man.

God told the Israelites that he would give them the promised land, but out of the 12 spies only two believed God’s word over the giants they saw in the land.

Joshua and Caleb received the promise and entered the promise land. Even if you don’t see the manifestation of your faith don’t doubt God, “his thoughts of you are of peace and not of evil, to give you a hope and a future,” Jeremiah 29:11.

God’s plan for you is always better than you could imagine therefore we must have faith and trust him that it will all work out for your good (Romans 8:28).
