J.M. Biggs: Understand why the church is failing

I recently made the statement that every Sunday the saints go to church and fellowship with each other. But the Lord is asking, when are we going to church to fellowship with him?

Almost every church in this country is programmed by the shepherd. A lot of them don’t even fast and pray. Don’t get me wrong — a lot of pastors are doing all they know how. The problem is that they don’t know enough.

Being a shepherd, especially in these last days, we have to be willing to die for Christ. I am not talking about a physical death. I’m talking about dying to the things of the world.

This is what the Bible says: “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me, and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20

We are living in a day and hour that the shepherd of the church must lay at the Father’s feet — not even wanting to get up until they hear from Him. The lives of their flocks really depend on that in these last days.

So many people are dying in the churches too soon. All of this is happening because a lot of pastors don’t have instruction from the Lord.

What is the instruction for the church in this last hour? Prayer! Remember when Jesus went in the temple and began whipping everybody. He said: “My house shall be called a house of prayer.” How many churches out there can the Lord say are a house of prayer? How many churches are out there where the Lord wants to go in swinging a whip?

The church is failing and leaders don’t even realize it. It is all because there is no serious prayer going on. I’m talking about effectual, fervent prayer. I’m talking about the kind of prayer that will make father God leap off of His throne. Remember what I’ve told you before — when we have a powerful prayer life, we become mighty in the Lord. We will begin to grow in godliness.

Please hear me, shepherds. Go to your church by yourselves. Stand or kneel at the altar. Then tell the Lord, “I give your church back to you.” Then declare that His church shall become a house of prayer. When you do it, watch the Lord begin to move like never before. The spirit of deliverance and repentance will manifest in the house. The spirit of healing will manifest. Also, the spirit of salvation will manifest. And lastly, God will manifest His glory in His house.

Please hear what I’m telling you. I am sent by the Lord to build up his churches (people) in the last days. Things are coming that will destroy the church. But if the church is hearing from God through prayer, they will know what to do.

This is the hour of the church and it is time to be prepared. Then we can truly sing with pride, “I’m a soldier in the Army of the Lord.”
