COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKBN) – Governor Mike DeWine announced $3 million in grants to help local law enforcement agencies combat illegal drug activity Friday.

Of the 36 counties receiving grants, Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull County will receive a slice of the funds.

Columbiana County will receive nearly $79,000, Mahoning will get just over $104,000 and nearly $91,000 will go to Trumbull.

The money can be used to investigate drug trafficking organizations by creating local task forces and to support local drug overdose victims and their families through education, support, and treatment options.
