Rep. Chanz Green, R-Grandview, announced Friday that he will run for re-election in the 74th Assembly District.

“I’m excited to announce my re-election campaign in the new 74th Assembly District,” Green said in a news release. “Since being elected, the voices of Northern Wisconsin have always been my top priority. Even though the district has changed, the goal remains the same: be a voice for Northern Wisconsin in Madison.”

The new 74th Assembly District will cover all of Iron, Sawyer, and Washburn Counties. Then it will cover about two-thirds of Ashland County. Next, it will cover about half of Bayfield and Douglas County. Lastly, it will cover about the top one-third of Burnett County.

“It has been an honor so far to serve Northern Wisconsin in the State Assembly,” said Green in the release. “I look forward to meeting the new additions to the 74th district and working hard to earn everyone’s support for another term in Madison.”

After State Representative James Edming announced his retirement, he endorsed Green for re-election.

“It has been a privilege to represent the people of Sawyer County over the past ten years,” said Rep. Edming in the release. “While I am retiring from the State Assembly at the end of this term, I can’t think of anyone better to continue fighting for the people of Sawyer County than Chanz Green. I encourage everyone who has supported me over the years to vote for Chanz in the August primary and the November general election.”
