HIGH POINT, N.C. (WGHP) — Get your umbrella out for your weekend ahead!

There is a stationary front draped across the northeastern corner of North Carolina that will act as a boundary, keeping warm, soupy conditions locked into the Piedmont. Expect increasing chances of rain into the weekend.

Clouds are moving in, and we’ll have mostly cloudy conditions for most of the day. Despite the greyer skies, temperatures are going to stay unseasonably warm, in the mid-80s. You may notice more humidity today as well if you’re out and about. Isolated showers are possible, but not likely. The chance of spotty showers is around 14%.

Overnight, the clouds thicken, and showers are expected to develop just before daybreak. Lows will be in the mid-60s.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely Saturday and Saturday night (80%+) and temperatures will be cooler, in the mid-70s. The stationary front will fizzle out Sunday, but a cold front to the west is expected to keep deep moisture in the forecast Sunday (70%) and Monday (60%). Highs on Sunday stay in the mid-70s, but highs approach 80 on Monday afternoon. No severe weather is expected over the weekend.

The middle of next week is going to warm back up again! The cold front to our west will be drawn northward, keeping our forecast unseasonably warm. We’ll have partly cloudy skies Tuesday through Thursday with highs in the mid-to-upper 80s. There is a 50% chance of afternoon thunderstorms on Thursday afternoon.
