    Martin County softball rolls to 21-1

    Although the Martin County softball team fell short a couple of weeks ago in a matchup with the Tarboro Vikings, they picked their winning streak right back up.

    Martin County softball has an overall record of 21-1.

    On Tuesday, April 30 the softball team hosted the Gates County Barons.

    Martin County ended the game in four short innings. They scored three runs in the first inning, with Gates County not scoring any.

    Martin County went on to score two more runs in the second inning. The Barons were still unable to score any runs.

    Martin County picked up in the third inning scoring seven runs and in the fourth putting three more on the board. The Barons were still unable to score any.

    The final score of the game was 15-0, Martin County won.

    Martin County Baseball falls shortThe Martin County baseball team traveled to Hertford on Tuesday, April 30.

    Martin County scored two runs in the first inning with the Pirates not scoring any.

    Martin County was unable to score any runs in the next three innings. The Pirates scored seven runs in the second inning.

    The Pirates then went with no runs scored in the third, fourth and fifth innings.

    Martin County scored one run in the fifth inning and none in the sixth.

    Perquimans was able to score three more runs in the sixth inning.

    The final score of the game was 10-3, Pirates victory.
