An 8-month-old baby died over the weekend in Conesus, Livingston County, the Livingston County Sheriff's Office announced on Wednesday.

Deputies were called to a home on Railroad Avenue at 8:35 a.m. Saturday to investigate after the family of an infant called 911 to report that the child was not breathing, Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty said in a news release. Deputies said that the child was found dead at the scene.

The Sheriff's Office is investigating the child's death with assistance from the Monroe County Medical Examiner's Office.

Deputies did not release the name or gender of the infant. Deputies also did not disclose details about the circumstances or cause of the baby's death. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
