A Tesla employee who was part of the recent layoffs, which saw a 10 percent reduction in staff, has shared his story of dedication to the company . Nico Murillo, who was let go during Tesla's largest-ever job cuts, revealed on LinkedIn how he used to sleep in his car and shower at the factory to maximize his work hours.

Murillo, who served as a production supervisor, wrote: "At one point in 2023, I was even sacrificing sleeping in my car on work days just to avoid commuting to work," as reported by Carscoops.

He further detailed his commitment by saying: "Showered at the factory and slept in the parking lot. Microwaved dinner in the break room." Living a 90-minute drive from Tesla's factory, Murillo found ways to stay close to work.

On Monday, April 15, as per RetailWire, Murillo was informed via email that his role at Tesla was no longer needed, and upon arrival at work, security did not permit him entry with his badge, reports the Express US .

After approximately five years with Tesla, Murillo expressed his shock at being laid off but remained optimistic, stating: "Sacrificed a lot for the company."

He concluded his viral LinkedIn post, which garnered over 68,000 reactions, including from a former Tesla colleague, with a forward-looking statement: "But this is just a small part of a chapter that is ending, and there's a whole book waiting to be written. I'm only 29 years old and have a lot more career time in me."

Andrea Adams, who works as a workplace health administrator at Tesla, made a comment on Murillo's LinkedIn post, saying: "Throughout our time working together, Nico consistently demonstrated exceptional qualities that not only contributed to the success of our Zone 4 BIW- 5 team but also left a lasting impression on those around him."
