Saginaw County in political spotlight

Immigration and protective tariffs on foreign goods are major topics as former President Donald Trump arrives in Saginaw County today for the third visit by a presidential candidate in four years.

Saginaw County, with a population of 190,000, has voters who backed Trump in 2016 and Biden in 2020, and are split in their decision for this year's election. If any one Michigan county is well-positioned for assessing where things stand in this election, it may be Saginaw, Paul Egan writes. He explains why in this story .
