SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A local non-profit in Luzerne County has served more than 65,000 warm meals to people in our community since 2021.

On Tuesday, Fork Over Love is expanding their community dinners to Lackawanna County.

Fork Over Love is a nonprofit organization that purchases hot, chef-made meals from small, independent restaurants and then distributes those meals at locations throughout the community for free.

Their mission is to feed neighbors like family, and they are doing just that.

The community dinner kicked off at 5:00 p.m. at Weston Field and lasted until meals ran out.

“All of the food that we purchased is fresh chef-made meals from independent restaurants throughout the area and so we’re really working to nurse community on two different levels by investing in these small family businesses as well as sharing this incredible takeout with our neighbors,” said Fork Over Love Founder & CEO Tracey Selingo.

Meals for the event were provided by Fork N Bowl and Fit AF Nutrition.

Everyone is welcome and donations are accepted to help with costs.
