CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — An investigation is underway after a shooting involving juveniles took place in Clearfield County over the weekend.

Clearfield County District Attorney Ryan Sayers said the shooting happened on the evening of Sunday, April 28 in Brady Township. He said the incident is currently a juvenile matter but that it is being investigated by state police out of DuBois.

The DA had no further details to provide. There’s currently no information from authorities pertaining to any possible injuries or victims.

In response to the shooting, the DuBois Area School District Superintendent Wendy Benton sent a letter to parents Monday regarding gun safety. In her letter, Benton described the incident as tragic and deeply saddening.

“As parents, educators, and members of this community, we all share a responsibility to ensure the safety and well-being of our children. One crucial aspect of this responsibility is promoting awareness and understanding of gun safety. While we cannot erase the pain of this tragic event, we can work together to educate our children about the importance of responsible gun ownership,” Benton said.
