    Man charged after report of student assaulted by substitute teacher in Wilkes County

    WILKES COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A man has been charged after a student was allegedly assaulted.

    According to the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office, on Thursday afternoon they were called by Wilkes County Schools about an assault on a student by a substitute teacher.

    After investigating, deputies arrested and charged Keene Kent Kruckenberg, 74, of North Wilkesboro, with one count of misdemeanor child abuse on Monday.

    The investigation is ongoing and the sheriff’s office did not release any further information.
