    While they say it's always a good time for ice cream (they're right!), no one can deny that the sweet treat really takes over during the warm weather. Here in Stark County, with many unique and locally owned spots, it's just about the perfect time to dig in.

    Here’s the scoop on several notable sweet spots:

    Just Ice Cream and a bit more

    213 Wabash Ave. S, Brewster

    Grab a spoondelicious treat at this tasty spot, which offers 66 hand-dipped flavors and 52 soft-serve flavors. If dairy is not your thing, Just Ice Cream also sells six different non-dairy, gluten free and low-fat, no sugar added flavors.

    Milk & Honey Candy and Soda Shoppe

    3400 Cleveland Ave. NW, Canton

    The community staple offers up more than 28 flavors of hand-dipped ice cream, and serves them in dishes, cones, sodas, malts, waffle sundaes – all while claiming the biggest and best banana split in town. Milk & Honey is an old-fashioned ice cream parlor, restaurant and candy shop.

    Taggart’s Ice Cream Parlor & Restaurant

    Walking into Taggart’s Ice Cream is like a step back in time. Grab a seat at the original marble countertop or a high-backed booth near the antique soda fountain. While many patrons spoon up the Bittner – a secret mixture of vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and Georgia pecans named in honor of a delivery boy from 1931 – you'll find a variety of flavors and tasty items on the menu.

    Dip into an ice cream adventure. Pav’s serves up more than 30 flavors of custard, hard ice cream, frozen yogurt and sorbet made on site daily. Why not try a scoop (or two) of blueberry cheesecake, Cookie Monster (blue, of course!), or mint chocolate chip? Also on the menu for adults only are a menu of boozy milk shakes with ice cream and spirits such as beer, whisky and kahlua and vodka.
