Fence-clearing hits and more notable performances by Erie County athletes: April 29-May 4

The Erie Times-News has run a weekly list of notable performances by Erie County athletes throughout District 10's spring sports season.

That feature will continue into May and conclude with PIAA tournaments that are scheduled over Memorial Day weekend.

The county's top athletes for this week are:

Baseball

Connor Cross, McDowell: He totaled three hits and four RBIs for the Trojans, who defeated the Fort LeBoeuf Bison 12-2.

Ed Dolansky, Fairview: His home run helped the Tigers beat North East 12-2.

Jordan Cannon, General McLane: He had two hits and pitched a complete game for the Lancers when they defeated the Warren Dragons 11-3.

Michael Gilmore, Seneca: His three hits helped the Bobcats beat Northwestern 4-3.

Reilly Brown, Iroquois: He pitched a four-hitter with nine strikeouts when the Braves defeated Cambridge Springs 4-1.

Hunter Krahe, Mercyhurst Prep: He recorded a save for the Lakers when they edged the Girard YellowJackets 2-1.

Sam Ciukaj, Cathedral Prep: He shut out the Corry Beavers on two hits when the Ramblers beat them 10-0.

Collin Nuber, Erie High: His RBI double in the bottom of the seventh inning capped the Royals’ wild 13-12 comeback victory vs. the visiting Meadville Bulldogs.

Josh Majczyk, Mercyhurst Prep: He was the winning pitcher, with a six-inning start for the Lakers when they beat North East 6-3.

Carson Stevens, Girard: He pitched a four-hitter and struck out 12 for the YellowJackets when they beat the rival Northwestern Wildcats 8-1.

Andrew Costello, Cathedral Prep: He scored four runs, one of them on his home run, and helped the Ramblers rally for a four-run seventh inning in an 11-8 victory at Meadville.

R.J. Hawkins, Erie High: He was the winning pitcher for the Royals when they edged Warren 2-1.

Jayden Hadlock, Iroquois: His five RBIs helped the Braves beat the Eisenhower Knights 17-7.

Klayton Komisarski, Seneca: His home run was part of a three-hit, three-RBI performance at the plate for the Bobcats, who defeated North East 6-5.

Nick Hamilton, McDowell: He starred as a pitcher (one-hit shutout) and hitter (home run) when the Trojans blanked General McLane 8-0.

Adam Milam, Fairview: He contributed a two-run home run to the Tigers’ 5-3, eight-inning victory at Harbor Creek.

Softball

Aubrey Hammill, Seneca: She totaled three hits en route to the Bobcats’ 12-4 victory vs. North East.

Emily Dudenhoeffer, Cathedral Prep: Her two hits and four RBIs aided the Ramblers when they defeated the Warren Dragons 11-1.

Avery Feldmann, Northwestern: The Wildcats routed Mercyhurst Prep 22-0 in part from her two hits and four runs.

Alyssa Burlew, Corry: She contributed two RBIs to the Beavers’ 11-6 win against the Hickory Hornets.

Maggie Lemock, Fort LeBoeuf: The freshman socked one of four home runs for the Bison and totaled five RBIs when they beat Fairview 16-4 in five innings.

Shae Kent, Union City: She was a home run shy of the cycle for the Bears, who beat Girard 13-2.

Norah DeRooy, Erie High: The Royals required each of her three hits and five RBIs en route to their 19-18 victory against Conneaut (Pennsylvania).

Georgia Weber, Harbor Creek: The Huskies blanked Union City 15-0 with significant help from her three hits and four RBIs.

Carissa Worline, Fairview: She recorded two of seven doubles for the Tigers, who beat the Seneca Bobcats 9-4.

Nyara Wentling-Gonzalez, Girard: She recorded four RBIs for the YellowJackets when they beat the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers 19-4 in the opener of the teams’ doubleheader.

Gracie Miller, McDowell: Her two-run home run highlighted a four-run sixth inning for the Trojans, who beat the visiting Conneaut Eagles 4-2.

Mahra Goodwill, Corry: She homered during the Beavers’ 18-0 rout of Oil City.

Morgan Madura, Cathedral Prep: She pitched a five-inning, no-hitter for the Ramblers, who defeated Erie High 11-0.

Courtney Eddy, Northwestern: Her three-run home run and RBI triple highlighted the Wildcats’ 12-2 victory over Fairview.

Ibree Rodgers, Fort LeBoeuf: She singled twice and drove in three runs for the Bison when they beat the visiting Union City Bears 7-5.

Olivia Hall, Northwestern: She recorded three doubles for the Wildcats when they beat the Girard YellowJackets 13-3.

Sydney Wittman, North East: Her mammoth 18-strikeout performance highlighted the Grapepickers’ 9-0 victory vs. the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers.

Madison Simmerman, Cathedral Prep: She hit one of the Ramblers' three home runs and totaled three RBIs during their 13-1, six-inning victory at Union City.

Brooklynn Cipalla, Harbor Creek: She went 2-for-2 and scored three runs as the leadoff batter for the Huskies when they blanked Seneca 10-0 in six innings.

Boys tennis

Jonah Ng, Cathedral Prep: His No. 1 singles victory helped the Ramblers conclude their regular season with a 3-2 dual victory vs. Nichols Academy of Buffalo. ... Earlier in the week, the junior also was a victor in straight sets during Prep's 5-0 home victory vs. New York’s Canisius High School.

Colin Troutman, Cathedral Prep: The Ramblers’ No. 1 singles starter helped them beat Mercyhurst Prep 4-1 and clinch first place in District 10’s Region 2 standings.

Boys lacrosse

Rylan Sorge, Cathedral Prep: He scored four goals and assisted on a fifth for the Ramblers when they beat the Fairview Tigers 8-5 in a District 10 match.

Eric Reese, McDowell: His hat trick accounted for one quarter of the Trojans’ offense when they beat the rival Cathedral Prep Ramblers 12-8.

Girls lacrosse

Reese Ranus, McDowell: Her total assists (five) exceeded her goals (four) when the Trojans won 15-5 at Fairview.

Niagara Millen, Cathedral Prep: Her six goals accounted for half of the offense when the Ramblers defeated Meadville 12-2.

Boys track and field

Joseph Galbraith, Fort LeBoeuf: He won the 100- and 200-meter races when the Bison beat North East 93-52.

James Burkett, Cathedral Prep: He won the 1,600 and 3,200 races for the Ramblers, who beat the General McLane Lancers 100-50.

Girls track and field

Alena Urbanowicz, Fort LeBoeuf: The Bison sprinter won the 100- and 200-meter races during their 90-55 dual victory vs. North East.

Anne-Catherine Brown, Cathedral Prep: She dominated the individual and relay distance races for the Ramblers when they beat General McLane 95-55.

Boys volleyball

Amarvir Kang, McDowell : He recorded 13 kills and five aces during the Trojans’ 25-9, 25-20, 25-18 sweep of the Maplewood Tigers.
