Sherburne Veterans Service Officer Bruce Price announces his retirement

After 12 years with Sherburne County, the last nine of which have been as the appointed veterans services officer, Bruce Price has announced his retirement, effective May 24.

Price also spent 24 years in active duty in the U.S. Army and has 40-plus years of service at the county, state and federal government levels.

“Bruce devoted his career to serving our county and our country,” County Commissioner and Board Chair Gregg Felber said. “Bruce has worked tirelessly to ensure our veterans and their families receive the best care and benefits. I am deeply grateful for his service and wish him well in his retirement.”

“Since becoming a county veterans services officer in 2008, it has truly been my ‘honor and pride’ continuing to serve and take care of one of the, if not the greatest minority groups of this country, our veterans and their families,” Price said.

Sherburne County Board Vice Chair Gary Gray said Price is a dedicated public servant who has fought to ensure that those who’ve raised their hand to serve receive the best care and services the county, state, and nation can provide.

“Minnesota’s veterans and their families were well served by Bruce, and we are forever grateful for, and will sorely miss, his selfless service on behalf of those who served,” Gray said.
