    Morning showers lead to warm, sunnier afternoon in Connecticut

    News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Hilda Estevez says to expect warmer temperatures and peeks of sunshine today.

    NEW & NOW: Mild temperatures this morning, 10-18 degrees departure compared to yesterday at this time. Damp spots with early morning showers. By 12 p.m., sunshine kicks in and temperatures hike up to low-mid 70s. Great, quiet afternoon until 6 p.m. when isolated showers, rumbles arrive across north-central areas. Rain totals near an inch to 1.5" at most, isolated.

    NEXT: Glorious Monday with 80s. Temperatures back down a touch into the 70s next week with shower chances. Typical spring weather.

    TODAY & TONIGHT: The warmer half of the weekend with showery potential after 6 p.m. Passing rumbles with moderate rain closer to 10 p.m. Highs near 74. Overnight lows stay warm near 54.
