Dayglow Lights Up Crowd At Movin’ On

In the finale of Penn State’s 2024 Movin’ On festival, musical artist Dayglow left its mark on the crowd after a full slate of all-day performances.

Following a rowdy set by Sexyy Red , the Fort Worth-based band reinvigorated a tired crowd after nearly six hours of vocals from a variety of artists. Despite a slight technical difficulty at the beginning of the set, lead singer Sloan Christian Struble commanded the audience and was met by whooping cheers at the first strike of the guitar to open with the song “Something.”

The crowd then reached new heights with the opening chords of hit “Hot Rod,” with the low-fi rock raising the tempo of the final set. Continuing with its varying discography, it teased an unreleased song entitled “Every Little Thing I Say I Do,” set to hit streaming apps next week.

After a few more songs from its various albums, Dayglow slowed it down with a relaxing cover of “There She Goes,” originally by Sixpence None the Richer. Drawing the evening to a close, singer Struble ad-libbed the introduction to “False Direction,” explaining the lyrics as reflecting the experience of crying alone in a bathroom at prom.

Met with roars from the front row, the lead singer exclaimed to fans, “All that I have to say is that, uh, you can join Dayglow.”

Following with a rowdy rendition of the viral sensation “Can I Call You Tonight,” Dayglow commanded the remaining attention and energy of eager students while they chanted lyrics.

Closing with the chart-topping hit “Run the World” and a rousing bout of guitar and drums, Dayglow thanked the students still celebrating after dark and exited the stage.
