$700,000 NRGRDA grant approved by Raleigh County Commission

BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Members of the Raleigh County Commission convened last Tuesday for the Regular Session meeting of the commission.

Roughly halfway through the session, agenda item 5.7 under “New Business) – Consideration of a grant for $700,000 to New River Gorge Regional Development Authority for economic development was discussed.

“This request is for the University Drive site,” said Commissioner Greg Duckworth of the agenda item. “As you all recall, we identified that for priority site development, and we do have a letter of intent with a company that is interested in locating on that site and so the $700,000 will cover the cost.”

A motion for approval of the grant was seconded, leading the carrying of the motion for commission approval.
