WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — A man with scores of arrests dating back to the 1980s is back in jail after being placed on the Crime Stoppers Most Wanted Suspects list last month.

Billy Wayne Crawford was wanted for a new theft charge in February. That theft involved a burglary of a vehicle belonging to a woman in the hospital after being assaulted.

PREVIOUS STORY: Police say man stole everything from apartment, including the kitchen sink

She told police Crawford was an ex-boyfriend. She said she got messages from two women who had seen him in her car and confronted and chased him away.

She said a debit card, Bluetooth device and phone charger were stolen.

Police say surveillance video shows the women yelling at a man officers recognized as Crawford.

In one prior burglary, police say he took almost everything, including the kitchen sink, from an apartment on Avenue C.

Another conviction was for taking a medicine ball from a fitness center on Brookdale Drive.

In another case, police said a man trying to sell a BMW gave him a key to start it up, and Crawford drove off.

Crawford’s theft sentences range from 180 days to 14 months. He has been booked into the Wichita County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
