1 hospitalized in vehicle accident on I-79

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — West Virginia 511 data shows that all lanes of traffic appear to be clear between the White Hall and Saltwell Rd exits on Interstate 79 South after a two-vehicle accident caused delays Wednesday afternoon and sent one person to the hospital.

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — One person had to be taken to the hospital Thursday afternoon after a vehicle accident on Interstate 79 that has caused delays in the area.

According to an official with the Harrison County 911 Center, at around 2 p.m., crews were alerted to a two-vehicle accident with injuries on I-79 South. West Virginia 511 data shows that the wreck appears to have happened between the White Hall and Saltwell Rd exits near Boothsville.

The official said that one person needed to be taken to United Hospital Center in Bridgeport to be further treated for their injuries. As of 3:14 p.m., one lane of southbound traffic is still closed in the area as crews wait on a wrecker to arrive.

Crews from the Bridgeport Fire Department, Bridgeport EMS and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office responded to this call.
