CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Officials honored a fallen Vietnam veteran on Wednesday in Clearfield County.

The Burnside Township bridge along State Route 30-04 has officially been renamed to the US Army Sergeant Harold “Butch” Koller Memorial Bridge.

Koller went into the service back in 1962 where he was part of the First Battalion 327th Infantry. He was killed in action in South Vietnam on Sept. 2, 1966.

“He made the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of us, to keep us free,” Rep. Dallas Kephart, (R) 73rd District, said. “It allows us to never forget the fallen, the brave men and women that came before us who served this country, to allow to continue to move forward, the veterans are what make this country great, now everyone who goes by this bridge will never forget him.”
